American Artists and sewing lessons. The students learned about American Quilts as well as art quilts. I showed examples of a traditional quilt that Mom had made and an art quilt of mine as examples. They are learning how to piece their re purposed fabric on quilt bases and will do applique, embroidery and beading to finish their art quilts. The art quilts will be shown in a Meet the Artists First Friday. I will post the information both here and on Facebook and Sandhillskids. I am also having a five day art quilt camp from January 4th-8th. Students will learn how to create a beautiful wall hanging using all the fiberarts skills.
